The Alturas Chamber of Commerce will be holding their annual Winterfest Parade of Lights festivities on December 4, 2021 down Main Street in Alturas. This years theme is "All I want for Christmas". If you would like to enter a lighted parade exhibit, please make sure you line up at the Veterans Memorial Park on South Main Street by 5 p.m. The parade will kick off promptly at 5:30 p.m. and make it's way down Main Street to the Main Street Park located next to Plumas Bank where you can spend an evening listening to holiday music provided by D.J. Harry Boulade, as well as the tree blessing by Debra Wemple Blanchette, a live nativity scene by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, a bon fire provided by the Alturas Fire Department, hot cocoa and cookies for sale by Xi Zeta Kappa Sorority, plus, you will be able to witness first hand the lighting of our town Christmas tree. And kids, please stick around because you might be able to see and talk with Santa Clause as he just might be showing up during this night of family fun.
