The Alturas Chamber of Commerce Winter Fest Parade of Lights was a tremendous success this year as a record number of lighted exhibits made their way down Main Street in Alturas from the Veteran's Memorial Park.
The entire Main Street was filled with parade goer's as the exhibit's made their way down to the parade route. Family and friends filled the entire Main Street Park to witness the lighting of our newly decorated community Christmas tree as well as watch the live nativity enactment scene provided by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Xi Beta Kappa Sorority were on hand providing plenty of hot chocolate and cookies for everyone in attendance during the entire evening of Holiday cheer.
The Alturas Chamber of Commerce would also like to thank the Alturas City Public Works crew for setting up the parade route with traffic cones and making it safe for all those in attendance. Also, we would like to thank them for using their equipment to install our new "Tree Topper" star high atop our community Christmas tree as well as restringing the entire tree with colorful lights to make it ready for the evening event.
